Shoes and Produce

In 1900s according to the Shoe Retailer and Boots and Shoes Weekly, harvest was used to display shoes.
A shoe shape is ubiquitous. It looks like a little boat. Consider the once famous brand in India - Bata. Ciabatta - slipper. A bread loaf.
Food shoes and Bread Slippers is a thing. In Indian Culture, food is a form of God and hence is longways from the shoe.

Mismatched shoes are a trend this year. The yin and yang, the summer fire and the cool ice to beat it are a great combination for this season.
When it comes to design, summer is a perfect time for some soothing green as well as bright pink of the watermelon to grace your feet. Two colors shoes is great for contrast as well as wholeness.
Now I am thinking, couldnt you shape tiny watermelon shells into shoes like the big ones scooped out to look like  a basket.

Lidia's child - Restaurant man

When the author talks about cleaning his father's restaurant with Lye, somehow fires came into my mind (like the ones in my dream where it would spread fast but was not destructive or explosive).
Cevapcici and ajvar
Boccie court
Chinotto (soft drink)
Cima alla genovese

Joe Bastianich jumps right into the business of restaurants. He talks about how much your food should cost to reap profits.

Its ironic that army-navy sales club the surplus from both while they fight it out at army-navy games.
Parachute pants
Needlepoint

The author must have seen a lot of movies to keep referring to its and pieces of so many of them.

Sacred water

There's Zam Zam grocery store. My husband knew the story of Zamzam Well.
While reading The tea and sage poem, I came across Hagar which summarised the story of zamzam.

We had soggy samosas, huge Paratha roll with good serving of tandoori chicken (while ordering this I mistook it for stuffed paratha) , chicken tikka masala with its sauce that tastes like pickle, Sindhi biryani with goat (The bones looked like such wide, hollow that you could shove pencils through it. They looked like bangles worn by the lambada reibe in AndhraPradesh) from there.
