The upside
Many months ago, I had noticed that lots of plants and trees here are not as they would be elsewhere. They have grey numerous stick bouquets underneath. I thought may be this is one of the deserts adaptation mechanism. Today morning, when I saw such a tree, it almost struck to me that birds here dont have to struggle much to make nests. But I have hardly seen any nests here.

I think it's not true.I live in the worst desert I guess,where you can find huge cactus trees.And every tree will have a bird nest.It's easy for the birds to prick those cactus as they are very juicy and may be inside it must be really cool !
hhhmmm tht's a piece of news for me,cactus is juicy.may be we'll find a cactus energy drink or a thirst buster hitting the stores in near future.
Now common maverick,you live in Arizona.I am sure you must have seen the big,huge,gigantic cactus plants(trees).Though they look hard hard outside but inside they are indeed very juicy.
And for your information since in cactus plants the thorns and stems are modified leaves,so that they can have hard and less surface for transpiration.These desert plants can not afford loosing water through transpiration,and thus all the water is stored in this way making it very juicy.
The next issue about energy drinks,dont worry you can find in whole foods market.They have plenty of them.You can even find Cactus(prickly ) fruit in whole foods market.
@sharda:though they are like a trade mark to AZ,i kinda have an aversion to cactus plants, so i never bothered to go near n observe them carefully.n i thought they were all hard, juicyness was the last thing i would guess.n thx for all tht info abt transpiration n stuff.
n im not sure abt the energy drink stuff, is tht true or is tht u r sense of humor :-), c'mon say fast otherwise im gonna go to costco to ask for cactus energy drinks n i dont want any 'see the insane guy' looks :-)
No I am not joking.I am not sure about Costco but you can get some of those drinks in Whole foods market.You can also find prickly (cactus) fruit in whole foods market.like Passoã Melon Cactus drinks,Prickly Pear Cactus Drink Mix - KLASS Aguas,health drinks(garlic,onion,cactus)
